appropriate agnomen
A horsefly is aptly named insofar as it congregates around the equine. Yet insofar as it deviates from said congregation and feasts upon the soft tissue of pedestrians or passing runners, its moniker might be altered to a more fitting flag, such as human flesh-eating f*&!er.
Once years ago when I was working at a sugar plant, I had an earache/ear infection, and was climbing a ladder to the top of a tall outdoor tank, when a big wasp (you can imagine the plant was infested with them) decided to land on my already sore ear and sting it!!! Naturally I was not too pleased.
a bag of paradoxes: i'm a sagacious fool, a diligent sluggard, a sinning saint, social hermit, an indulgent ascetic, a bumly dandy, and a melancholy optimist (or a joyful pessimist, i'm not sure which)
hehe!
